FORSYTH — Georgia’s U.S. Senate race produced a raw Thursday on the middle-Georgia campaign trail, where Republican Rep. Mike Collins’ rural health-care message collided with Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff’s attacks on Medicaid policy and a two-week controversy over Collins’ son-in-law.

WGXA reported that Collins visited Monroe County Hospital to outline priorities on costs and rural access, then ended the media portion of the stop after repeated questions about alleged antisemitism and white-nationalist content tied to his son-in-law, David Scheer II. The same day, Ossoff held a virtual press conference demanding fuller answers about Scheer’s role and any payments, while both campaigns issued dueling statements on hospital funding.
