WINDER — The father of Apalachee High School shooter Colt Gray was sentenced Thursday to 15 years in prison, closing a second major chapter in the legal aftermath of Georgia’s deadliest school shooting.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta News First, and national wire reports, Piedmont Superior Court Judge Nicholas Primm imposed the 15-year aggregate sentence on Colin Gray, 55, in Barrow County Superior Court on July 30, 2026. The ruling came two days after Colt Gray, now 16, was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole for the Sept. 4, 2024, attack that killed four people and injured nine others.

WINDER, Ga. — Colt Gray, the teenager who killed four people at Apalachee High School in September 2024, was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison without the possibility of parole after pleading guilty to 55 counts.

According to FOX 5 Atlanta’s courtroom coverage, Barrow County Superior Court Judge Nicholas Primm imposed the sentence following a non-negotiated plea. Gray had entered the guilty plea Friday. He was 14 at the time of the attack and 16 at sentencing.
