National Weather Service Peachtree City’s Area Forecast Discussion issued at 1:35 a.m. EDT Wednesday, Aug. 5, opened with three key messages: scattered showers and thunderstorms again Wednesday afternoon; elevated rainfall rates and slow storm motions supporting localized flash flooding; and afternoon highs within a degree or two of seasonal normals (mid-80s to lower 90s) through the week.

The short-term section warned that slow storm motion and leftover moisture could produce locally heavy rainfall and a patchy flash-flood risk, while any stronger cells might gust 30 to 50 mph even if overall instability stays limited.
