NWS Atlanta issues Heat Advisory for parts of east Georgia Wednesday as Fayetteville lifts boil-water notice

The National Weather Service office in Peachtree City has issued a Heat Advisory for parts of eastern Georgia from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with forecast heat index values of 105 to 108 expected across the warned area.

NWS Atlanta said the heat will combine with high humidity to push apparent temperatures well above the actual air temperature. Afternoon highs are forecast in the mid-90s across metro Atlanta and the upper 90s to near 100 across central Georgia.

Boil water advisory lifted for 47,800 customers in South Fulton and Fairburn

The City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management lifted its boil water advisory for customers in South Fulton and Fairburn at 3 p.m. Saturday, after laboratory sampling confirmed that no contamination was detected in the public water system.

The advisory had affected approximately 47,800 customers after a power outage at the Adamsville Pump Station on Friday. Power was restored Friday night, but the precaution remained in effect while crews collected and tested water samples.
