Undrafted QB Jack Strand draws raves as Falcons camp navigates injuries

FLOWERY BRANCH — Atlanta Falcons training camp has turned into an unexpected showcase for an undrafted rookie while the quarterback room works through injuries, roster churn, and a heavy personal loss on the coaching staff.

ESPN Falcons reporter Marc Raimondi’s continually updated camp file said Friday that Jack Strand, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound product of Division II Minnesota State–Moorhead, has taken the majority of 11-on-11 reps with Tua Tagovailoa (tight back) and Michael Penix Jr. (right knee) not fully cleared. On Friday, Strand was 7-of-8 passing in those team periods and completed his first six throws.
